Sina Augustin (b. 1997 in Münster, Germany) is a mixed-media artist based in Bocholt. Her artistic journey began during a period of personal and professional realignment. After completing a corporate study program and spending her early career in management consulting, she found herself immersed in a fast-paced environment shaped by constant performance expectations. Added to this were the relentless flow of information from social media, the feeling of always needing to be more, and the pressure of continuous self-optimization. While pursuing one goal after another without finding true fulfillment, little space remained for experiencing the present moment.
This realization marked the beginning of a conscious shift in perspective. She immersed herself in the study of mindfulness and inner contentment, seeking to redirect her attention away from external expectations and toward what truly matters. Throughout this process, the artistic practice became a central anchor. Both the creation and contemplation of her works enabled her to perceive moments more consciously, cultivate gratitude, and find a sense of presence in everyday life. From this personal transformation emerged the foundation of her artistic philosophy: creating visual spaces that slow down the act of seeing and inspire conscious perception. Since 2022, she has been continuously professionalizing and expanding her artistic practice.
Her works evolve through a layered and multifaceted process. Combining different media, materials, and textures, Sina creates abstract, multidimensional visual worlds. Her signature use of luminous gold has become a defining element of her artistic language, giving each work a distinctive radiance and depth.
Sina’s work is receiving growing recognition. Her artworks have been exhibited nationally and internationally, attracting increasing attention from collectors and art professionals alike. Driven by a clear vision of establishing art as a practice of presence, she continues to refine and expand her artistic position, opening new perspectives for a lasting presence within the international art market.
"My works are counterweights to acceleration. I create abstract, multidimensional visual spaces that slow down the act of seeing and focus perception – in a present where sensory overload often suppresses depth. Within layered compositions, material, texture, and color converge into a subtle dynamic that does not appear loud, but instead deepens observation and sharpens awareness.
Gold is a central element in this process. It captures light, shifts perspectives, and activates the space between the artwork and the viewer. Depending on their point of view the image changes, creating a quiet exchange between presence and restraint. This interplay makes perception itself the subject: seeing is not merely an act of recognition, but a relationship. Rich detail meets a restrained palette, visual intensity meets inner tranquility.
My works invite the viewer to allow a moment of silence: to breathe, to pause, to feel. The focus is on a conscious way of seeing, one that does not consume but resonates. The artwork becomes an anchor that gently draws attention back. Back to the here and now. To the place where clarity emerges and emotions are given space once again.
I hope that art can be understood as a practice of presence: a recurring impulse that sharpens our perception and deepens our capacity to feel – independent of trends, technology, and the pressures of success. A work fulfills its purpose when it transforms perception into a conscious experience and inspires a more mindful way of engaging with the world."
